A relief trash truck driver was honored at a city council meeting last night.

On November 16, 2018, Chris Richardson was running a trash route on Mount Sequoyah when he saw a person lying in the street.

Richardson ran over to check on the individual to find an elderly woman unconscious, face down on the ground. Richardson returned to his vehicle and pushed the emergency button to contact dispatch to have paramedics sent.

Two more people arrived on the scene to assist Richardson in turning the individual over onto her back and began chest compressions to revive her.

After a few minutes the paramedics and firefighters from Fayetteville Arkansas Fire Department’s Station One arrived and took over her care.

Fire Chief David Dayringer presented a certificate of recognition to Richardson at the city council meeting on Feb 19, 2019.
