Fayetteville Man Appeals Red Dirt Mine Permit Denial

The man who wanted a red dirt mine in Fayetteville has appealed the Washington County Planning Board’s denial of his request for a permit.

Bobby Morris, the property owner, filed the appeal with the Washington County Clerk’s Office on Tuesday.

The Planning Comission on Feb. 14 denied a permit for the rock quarry planned to be built on Greenburrow Road in West Fayetteville.

More than 50 neighbors attended the meeting and voiced their concern.

County Attorney Brian Lester said the appeal is expected to be considered at the March 21 Quorum Court meeting.
