Fayetteville man uses football to mold character of young men

News

A Fayetteville man uses the game of football to teach the importance of teamwork and perseverance.

With help from 7hills Homeless Center and the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club, Marcus London is teaching his team, the Northwest Arkansas Generals, much more than the game.

London is putting an emphasis on raising his players’ grades and helping those in need.

“We had a rough year, far as physically, football, but, you know, on the positive side of things, we’ve had a lot of kids become accountable for their lives and their situations,” London said. “They brought their grades up. They’ve taken an attitude from ‘it’s his fault, it’s his fault’ to being way more accountable.”

London said his team has brought extra socks, books and food before every game to donate to 7hills.
