Fayetteville officials to consider polystyrene foam restriction

Styrofoam could become a thing of the past in Fayetteville.

The City Council will consider an ordinance on Tuesday restricting the use of polystyrene foam around the city.

If passed, it would ban the city and any business on city property from buying the product for single use like cups, plates and utensils.

Councilwoman Teresa Turk is sponsoring the ordinance for environmental purposes.

Little Rock passed a similar statute in November.
