A Fayetteville Public Schools official has been placed on paid administrative leave.
Dr. Mark Oesterle was placed on paid administrative leave, Alan Wilbourn, public information officer for Fayetteville Public Schools, confirmed Wednesday.
“Dr. Mark Oesterle has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the resolution of a personnel matter,” Wilbourn said.
Oesterle is the executive director of secondary education for Fayetteville Public Schools.
Fayetteville Police confirm there is an open investigation into Dr. Oesterle. Police would not release any details about the investigation.
Dr. Mark Oesterle was previously an assistant principal at the Don Tyson School of Innovation in Springdale from 2014-2016. Before that, he was an assistant principal at Har-Ber High School.
Wilbourn also added the school district does not comment on personnel matters so to protect the rights of those involved.
