FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Springdale police arrested a felon accused of stealing more than 30 guns and other items from Arky Armory on East Robinson Avenue.
The items were stolen on Tuesday evening.
The Springdale Police Department said officers were called at 7:12 p.m. after a commercial alarm was triggered. When they got to the business, officers found a spot where sheet metal had been torn from the building, and insulation was pulled out. At that point, the business owner was called.
Police said the owner confirmed several guns, suppressors, an iPhone, an iPad and two credit cards were missing.
On Wednesday, the business owner told police the stolen credit cards had been used a total of five times.
Eventually, police developed Chad Sales, 31, as a suspect. Police tracked the stolen iPhone and found Sales. They got a search warrant for his residence and vehicle.
Searching his vehicle, police found six guns, one suppressor, the iPhone and iPad. In the house, police said officers found a loaded methamphetamine needle and other drug paraphernalia.
Authorities said the felon agreed to lead police to the other stolen guns and took them to a locked shed in Sonora. Inside, police found 34 guns, 17 suppressors and more. Officers also found the jacket Sales wore while stealing the guns, according to police.
Sales was booked into the Washington County Detention Center and faces charges of commercial burglary, theft of property, first-degree criminal mischief and more, jail records state. He’s set to appear in court on Friday.
