Festive New Year’s Day Potluck Held in NWA

News

People had the chance to fill their stomach and their soul Tuesday to kick off 2019.

It was all a part of the third annual Trillium Salon Series New Year’s Day Potluck Celebration held in Fayetteville.

People brought and shared food while enjoying  pop-up classical music performances from local musicians from throughout Northwest Arkansas.

The goal of the event was to get classical music outside the concert hall and into intimate settings.

“Classical music is something that people think of that you go to the concert hall; you have to get really dressed up, it’s all for the upper crest, and we’re trying to show that classical music is for everyone,” said Katy Henriksen, founder of Trillium Salon Series.

The Trillium Salon Series also featured a sing along session, poetry readings and paper crane folding.
