The Jones Center in Springdale is dedicated to providing a place where the people of the Northwest Arkansas community can come together to learn, play and belong. That core mission is on full display with the recent opening of its fitness center, which has been under construction since January.
“It’s just been ideal. It’s been … right there, close to home,” Jones Center Member David Scott offered when talking about what he likes about his overall experience.
David Scott has been a member of the Jones Center in Springdale for about a year now. He is just one of the folks we caught up with that is excited about the newly renovated gym space, which recently opened back up — offering state of the art equipment at a substantially lower cost than most gyms. He was quick to say he is a big fan of the new features as well as the support the staff offers.
“They give you good instructions and they’ll listen to you, to your needs and they’ll even make recommendations for classes,” Scott explained. “It’s very, very good.”
The Jones Center was quick to offer its thanks to point out the support of Tyson Foods for donating 750-thousand dollars, which made the renovation possible.
“We tripled the size of our previous fitness center, added all new equipment and really made it an outstanding place for adults to come and work out,” Jones Center Marketing and Communications Director Jake Lane shared.
“I think just anybody could come in here and use it, from all of Northwest Arkansas, and have a good time,” Jones Center Member Trish Ross said.
Ross is a newer member, who finds great value in what the Jones Center offers as well as its core mission to provide a positive, low cost experience.
“A lot of families, maybe they couldn’t afford a high-priced gym membership,” Lane explained. “So we wanted to give something to families that was affordable for all families in Northwest Arkansas and we find that really benefits the community in a great way.”
Of course, cost is not not the only factor that serves as motivation for the members we spoke with.
“It’s location, the fact that it’s a hub for the whole family,” Scott shared. “So no matter what age you are, there’s things everybody can do.”
Monthly gym memberships start as low as eight dollars for individual adults. They also offer classes and personal trainers and you can learn more about all the Jones Center offers by clicking here.
