With all of the storms lately, we’ve been hearing about severe weather potential.

However, another major concern is flooding along the Arkansas River, where some places prone to flooding are already dealing with the waters.

At Lee Creek in Van Buren, which is just below flood stage at 398.6 feet, will be reaching major flooding stage by overnight tomorrow and cresting this weekend at around 408 feet.

At the Arkansas River site in Van Buren, they are already at Minor Flooding Levels with water levels over 24 feet and quickly approaching Major Flooding Levels by Thursday into Friday. Even though the rain is expected to end overnight tonight, the Arkansas River isn’t expected to crest until this weekend. At that time it’s anticipated to be around 34 feet, four feet below the record in Van Buren.
