FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — Former Fayetteville Public Schools superintendent Dr. Matthew Wendt has filed a defamation clause against the woman who accused him of sexual harassment.

Wendt filed a defamation clause in Washington County Circuit Court against his accuser Shae Lynn Newman.

Wendt claims Newman knowingly published false information about him on two occasions.

Wendt was terminated in June for a breach of contract. He said he’s been unable to gain employment as a school administrator since then.

Wendt is seeking $850,000 in damages.
