A former Springdale pastor with a past child porn conviction pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a teen for sex.

Timothy Lee Reddin, 68, was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 10 years in prison for one count of attempted online enticement of a minor.

Reddin, 68, was also fined $1,900 and ordered to have no unsupervised contact with minors. His prison sentence will be followed by 25 years of supervised release.

Reddin, a former pastor at Turner Street Baptist Church in Springdale, was arrested in August in the culmination of an online undercover operation to nab child predators.

An undercover Homeland Security Investigations agent posed as a 14-year-old boy online and spoke with Reddin about meeting to have sex.

The undercover officer communicated with Reddin after Reddin contacted him on a website. During their correspondence, Reddin asked the supposed teen his age. The agent said he was about to turn 15.

The undercover officer said Reddin contacted him another time and offered to give him pointers on having sex for the first time and offered to assist him with his first sexual experience. Reddin then said, “I’ll never tell! I could go to jail!”

Arrangements were made between Reddin and the undercover officer to meet in Fayetteville on Aug. 3 for the purpose of gaining trust with each other and to subsequently have a sexual encounter if that trust developed.

Reddin was arrested during that meeting.

At the time of Reddin’s arrest he was listed as a pastor at Turner Street Baptist Church. He was also listed on Ecclesia College’s website as part of the teaching faculty.

Lee has a previous 2000 arrest and conviction in the Eastern District of Arkansas for federal violations of possession of child pornography. He was sentenced to 27 months incarceration and made to register as a non-expiring sex offender, according to the affidavit.
