Fort Smith Mayor George McGill said the work to clean the lagoons in the river bottoms of Crawford County will begin again Monday, February 11.
This a request from the mayor to Denali Water Solutions of Russellville’s Jason Golden.
Golden told the mayor work wouldn’t happen until Monday, “at the earliest, depending on the wind direction, of course,” said Golden, “we have about two to three more days to go, then we are done.”
The mayor told Golden he noticed a bad odor Tuesday, February 5, but Golden jokingly replied, “it’s not me this time.”
Denali’s postponing the work is timely because the city has big events planned: Mayor’s “State of the City” Address at UAFS on Wednesday, February 6, Marathon activities and festivities over the weekend, February 9 and 10.
