Fort Smith man missing in Jalisco, Mexico

News

A Fort Smith man who had just graduated from a medical school in Mexico’s state of Jalisco is missing, according to several sources close to him.

Jesse Pacheco, 29, was last seen Saturday, June 15, after graduating on Friday, June 14.

“He went to a local club in Jalisco with friends to celebrate,” said Natalie Herrera a friend, “Jesse and Carlos [Alejandro Delgadillo Romero] were the last ones to leave the club from their group of friends.”

The two men left the Strana Nightclub around 3 a.m. on June 16, and that’s the last time Pacheco was seen, according to sources. Delgadillo, a U.S. citizen, was found dead having been shot and beaten, according to Herrera.

It’s believed the men were possible attempted kidnapping victims, according to family.

Guadalajara is a city in the western part of Mexico in the state of Jalisco.

Fort Smith police issued the following statement regarding Pacheco:

Unfortunately, if a crime has occurred, it would be well outside our jurisdiction and ability to investigate.

FSPD Public Information Officer Aric Mitchell said the only citation in its database shows a ticket for a cracked windshield in 2011. “Very clean record,” wrote Mitchell.
