Fort Smith Men Charged with Battery after Shooting Cab Driver in Head

News

The two men who shot a Fort Smith cab driver early February 19 have been charged with multiple crimes.

Keithan Norris, 19, and Norman Massey, 20, were charged in Sebastian County Circuit Court with aggravated robbery and battery in the first degree.

Norris faces an additional charge of possession of firearms for a prior felony conviction.

Norris and Massey told the cab driver to drive them to Morrison Elementary School. The cab driver stated that one of the subjects pulled a firearm and attempted to rob him, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Officers reviewed video surveillance that shows Norris shooting the cab driver twice. The cab driver was standing outside of the cab when officers arrived. The driver had two gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

The cash bond for both men was set at $250,000. They will be arraigned on these charges on February 27 at 8:30 a.m. in Fort Smith.
