Fort Smith officials are working to make the U.S. Marshals Museum a reality.
Voters decided against a new sales tax last month. The one percent tax would have lasted nine months to help pay for the museum.
“We will continue ardently fundraising, overturning every stone, overturning every donor possibility and really staying the course to open the doors of the United States Marshals Museum.,” Vice President of Development Alice Alt says.
The River Valley Economic Development Council and the group ‘Believe in Fort Smith’ will host a public town hall to talk about private funding for the museum.
It starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Creekmore Park Rose Room Community Center.
