Fort Smith Police Arrest Man Following Report of Breaking and Entering

Fort Smith Police have made an arrest in connection to breaking and entering early Tuesday.

Uno Saygnaphay, 44, was arrested in Fort Smith on Tuesday morning. The reported breaking and entering occurred on the 4400 block of Armour Avenue.

Saygnaphay was located hiding in the area by patrol officers after the call was received by dispatch.

Saygnaphay was confronted by two of his intended victims while in-the-act. He showed a knife and threatened the two men.

One of the men showed a firearm and fired two shots. Saygnaphay left the area after the shots were fired.

Saygnaphay was arrested for absconding, failure to appear, residential burglary and two counts of aggravated assault with a sharp instrument.
