Fort Smith Police Make Arrest in Samurai Sword Attack

A Fort Smith man has deep cuts on his body after being  attacked with a samurai sword late Friday, according to the Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD).

Eddie Luangoudom, 26, from Fort Smith, was arrested by police for the stabbing that happened at the 1300 block of Albert Pike Ave., in Fort Smith. 

The victim told police that Luangoudom had been acting strangely because of drug use.

Also, the victim said he is in a relationship with a person in Luangoudom’s family.

The unprovoked attack, according to what the victim told police, happened when he was on the computer.

The victim has deep cuts on his right shoulder and hands, and he was first taken to an area hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Little Rock.  He’s listed in stable condition, according to police.

Luangoudom is at the Sebastian County Detention Center (SCDC) charged with First-degree Battery. He’s held on no bond and his court date is December, 27.

There are two prior arrests listed for Luangoudom on SCDC’s booking page: 

  • December 20, arrested for Drunk in Public.
  • December 14, arrested for Criminal Trespass. 

On both instances he was released on a $200 signature bond.
