Local high school students in Northwest Arkansas will sleep in cardboard boxes to raise funds and awareness of homelessness.

Fayetteville High School is holding its 20th Annual Homeless Vigil Dec. 6 on campus in the space between Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the building.

Students will be raising money and collecting non-perishable food items on campus from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. at the event. They will also be selling sweatshirts for $20.

Proceeds and donations from the event will go to the Families in Transition program. The program helps less fortunate students and their families in the Fayetteville School District.
