Child Falls Off Dam, Pulled from Water

LEFLORE COUNTY, Okla. (KFTA) -- A child fell off the Robert S. Kerr Lock and Dam in Sallisaw, Oklahoma around 3:25 pm after he or she was possibly fishing.

Kendal Morgan, Undersheriff for the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office said Oklahoma Highway Patrol pulled the child out of the water.

Morgan said the child was breathing after emergency crews pulled the child from the river. 

The lock and dam is a popular fishing spot, according to Morgan. He said people will stand at the top of dam and fish.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol, LeFlore County Sheriff's Office, Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office along with surrounding fire and ambulance service are on the scene.
