FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) -- A restaurant in Fayetteville is now accepting digital currency similar to bitcoin.
Prelude Breakfast Bar on Spring Street said it started accepting lumens this week.
Customers that wish to pay in lumens have to scan a QR code. They then copy the information that appears once they scan the code into a digital wallet that sends the payment.
The restaurant said it was motivated to start accepting digital currency by the big jump in value of cryptocurrency in December 2017. At one point, digital currency bitcoin reached a value that exceeded $10,000.
Although no customers had paid with lumens as of Thursday morning, the restaurant said its getting attention for simply having the payment option.
