Man Turns Himself In After Fatal Stabbing in Sallisaw

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.-- A Sallisaw, Oklahoma man turned himself in during a fatal stabbing investigation.

Sallisaw Police say 40-year old Rodney Hodges was wanted for 1st Degree Murder in the fatal stabbing of 37-year old Kennith Reed, also of Sallisaw.  Police say they responded to a 911 call at N. Walnut and Argyle at 7:17 p.m. Tuesday.  Officers found Reed stabbed at the residence, and he was transported a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

After interviewing witnesses, police named Hodges as a suspect and began a combined search with the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigations.

On Wednesday at approximately 7:30 a.m., Hodges called the Sallisaw Police Department saying he wanted to turn himself in.  He then gave his location to officers, who took him into custody without incident.
