SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KFTA) -- The manager of the Rotary Club of Springdale was arrested in connection to moving money from other nonprofit accounts for personal gain, according to Springdale police.
Courtney Palfreeman, 40, turned herself in on July 5, 2018. Palfreeman was arrested on suspicion of second-degree forgery, theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.
An audit conducted by the Rotary Club from January 2017 to June 2018 found that approximately $245,000 was missing from rotary club accounts.
The Rotary Club released a statement on the theft, saying "we are deeply saddened by Miss Palfreeman's actions which led to her arrest, but we are committed to continuing the good work in Springdale and around the world that our club has been in engaged in since 1925."
