News

According to Fayetteville Police, Thursday night 22-year-old Dekota Harvey shot two people leaving one dead. We sat down with the survivors of the shooting who say their lives are changed forever by the monster who took their best friend and girlfriend’s life.

According to the police reporter, 20-year-old Elizabeth “Alexis” Dawson was shot in the chest and killed by Harvey. Dawson’s secret girlfriend 21-year-old Courtney “Shea” Willie was breaking up with Harvey after a two-year relationship when the argument turned deadly. Willie sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.

We sat down with the two survivors of the shooting who recall the night’s events and what led up to Harvey charging in with a gun.

During their relationship, Harvey had a pattern of abusing Willie. According to a police report from summer 2018, Harvey was arrested for punching her in the mouth and punching her in the back of the head multiple times. Willie says his anger and abuse was no surprise but she never thought he would kill someone over something so small.
