The Economic Opportunity Agency now has funds available to help low income households during the winter season.
Assistance with energy utilities is now offered through the low income home energy assistance program. The EOA will be able to provide assistance to any households using electricity, gas or wood to heat their homes.
“The low income engery assistance program is vital for a lot of households particually during extreme times of the year such as the winter,” Washington County Economic Opportunity Agency Excutive Director Delia Anderson Farmer explained. “We want to make sure we get the word out that have the ederly disabled members because this program will help keep their homes warm during these winter months.”
The program opens up every year starting in January. The families will have to meet the requirements for funding, which can be found on the EOA website or by visiting the office website monday though thursday 8 am to 3 pm, or on friday 8 am to 11 am.
