Golfers Tee Up to Take On Breast Cancer

News

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA) — Golfers are also joining the fight against breast cancer in the 12th Annual Swing for the Cure tournament in Rogers.

Komen Ozark hosts the event every year to raise money for breast cancer research and treatment.

Knowing much of the money Komen raises stays right here in Northwest Arkansas, golfers braved the weather to  hit the fairways for this great cause.

“Everyone’s trying to do their part to help out and so people still show up in the rain and the cold and we’re glad to have them,” said Lauren Marquette, executive director of Susan G. Komen Ozark.

While today’s event was a lot of fun, Marquette has a very serious reminder.

She encourages women to get screened for breast cancer and reach out to Komen if you need help.
