Governor Declares Hiking and Backpacking Day

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Gov. Asa Hutchinson declared July 17 to be “hiking and backpacking day” in the Natural State.

The governor chose to declare a special day for hiking and backpacking because of the high volume of visitors who travel to the state’s parks throughout the summer.

Arkansas has 52 state parks, three national forests and thousands of hiking trails to choose from.
