Gov. Asa Hutchinson took part in the U.S. Marshals Museum Lecture Series.
Hutchinson said the lecture series is meant to draw attention to the history of the U.S. Marshals and their role in Fort Smith.
But the series also focused on the different functions of government where Hutchinson explained his role as the chief executive of the State of Arkansas.
With tourism being Arkansas’ second leading industry, the governor emphasizes the importance of a project like the Marshals Museum.
“It’s that diversity that helps us in terms of our economy, whether that’s manufacturing that’s strong, agriculture, but tourism is an important part of that and we’re trying to get more and more visitors to Arkansas,” Hutchinson said.
