The Gravette Fire Department will host a hands-only CPR class on Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center in Gravette.
This class is free and open to the public and will be taught by Gravette Fire Department Lieutenant John Sturdivant.
“Hands-only CPR is a life-saving technique and knowing the proper method could buy valuable time until help arrives,” said Interim Gravette Fire Chief David Orr.
“Hands-Only CPR is CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths and is recommended for use by people who see a teen or adult suddenly collapse in an “out-of-hospital” setting,” according to the American Heart Association’s website.
The chance of survival from a cardiac arrest increases significantly when CPR is started immediately, the website states.
There is no pre-registration required for this event, and all ages can attend.
