The City of Gravette is upgrading its trails with the help of new grant money. Gravette was selected for a federal TAP grant of $400,000.
The money will go towards the second phase of walking trails that will connect people from one side of Highway 59 to the other and run right up to the Gravette High School parking lot.
Mayor Kurt Maddox said this will replace out of date pathways.
“We’ve went several decades where not a lot of sidewalks were replaced and taken care of. So we have a focus on getting a lot of that old infrastructure replaced and put back to the way it should be,” Maddox said.
Mayor Maddox said the project will go out to bid next spring, and construction will begin after that.
