BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — The Greater Bentonville Chamber of Commerce is finding new ways to attract businesses to the area.
A new economic development initiative brought a dozen companies to town.
#BecauseBentonville is an economic development brand that finds entrepreneurs, innovators, founders and owners of businesses in areas that are cost prohibitive for talent.
After using data from websites like LinkedIn, the Greater Bentonville Chamber of Commerce identifies who may be a great fit to move to Bentonville.
The first round of marketing focused on mountain biking, and the first wave of invites included a package with several NWA items.
20 people representing 13 businesses came to town.
President/CEO Graham Cobb with the Greater Bentonville Chamber of Commerce says there are several other industries he would like to see come to NWA.
“We think certainly supply chain management, certainly digital production, design, marketing, anything tech based that’s scalable. We think there is a great opportunity here,” Cobb said.
Cobb says he doesn’t have a timeline of when the next round of marketing will happen, but it’s all about controlling people to come here instead of waiting for them to show up.
