FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) – The American Heart Association kicked off its fundraising and awareness campaign to fight cardiovascular disease Wednesday.
The campaign will lead to a Heart Ball on May 12, the organization’s big fundraising gala.
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in the United States.
Events like the Heart Ball help the association in their mission to lower the heart disease and stroke rate.
Nearly 29 percent of Northwest Arkansas each year are attributed to cardiovascular disease.
You can help fight cardiovascular disease by volunteering with the group or donating to the cause.
