A hiker has fallen from the cedar falls hiking trail atop Petit Jean Mountain.
Just after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday a hiker was reported to have gotten too close to the edge of the two-mile-long trail.
The hiker fell near the cedar falls waterfall, which according to the Arkansas State Parks website, stands at 95 feet tall.
Morrilton Police say it took about two hours to extract the hiker from the base of Cedar Falls and they were taken by helicopter to a local hospital.
No names or conditions have been released.
