Hobbs State Park celebrated with the kick-off of Arbor Day, Saturday, March 16.
Activities began at 10 a.m. and will go on throughout the week.
Many of the events families may enjoy.
“Trees give life. Trees purify the air. Trees help purify the water that we drink. Trees provide a place to build tree houses. They shade our property. They increase our property value,” said Al Knox, a retired state park employee.
There are Arbor Day hikes and even a tree giveaway.
The meeting place is at the visitor center.
There are three different times hikes will be offered: 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m., 12 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. and 2 – 2:45 p.m.
