Dr. Irene Butter motivated a group of students at the Clinton Presidential Center.

She survived two concentration camps, including one where she met Anne Frank.

She said Germans targeted, labeled and discriminated against Jewish people.

75 years later, Dr. Butter says she sees many parallels now to Nazi Germany.

“Today in our country the people that are targeting are African Americans, people from Africa, people from Latin America and labels today are they are all rapists, all terrorists and of course we know that is far from the truth,” says Dr. Irene Butter.

Dr. Butter is a Professor Emerita at the University of Michigan.

She encourages working to erase prejudice and discrimination.

Her visit is made possible by the Anne Frank Educational Fund.

Dr. Butter also has written a book about her story called Shores Beyond Shores.
