How to Fight Spring Allergies

KNWA — We’re seeing more pollen in the air, and you can blame your allergies on the warmer weather. Tree and grass pollen, plus outdoor molds are all prevalent. Doctors say avoid opening windows in early spring months to keep out the pollen. If you go outside for a while, change your clothes or wash your hair once you come inside for the day.

“I think if you recognize that you’ve had seasonal allergies in the past you can expect that you’re going to have those every year. It’s a good idea to get your allergy medicines started early before the symptoms get bad. Otherwise you’re playing catch up and its very hard to get symptoms under control,” said allergist Dr. Karen Maves.

You can also find some relief from over the counter medicine, antihistamines and nasal sprays can help.
