Huntsville School District to Pay Student Thousands in Lawsuit Settlement


The Huntsville School District has settled a lawsuit regarding a student that was expelled for posing for a photo holding an AR-15 rifle that was posted on social media.

The Huntsville Schools District will be required to pay $42,665 to settle a federal lawsuit over the student’s expulsion.

However, the student will remain expelled for the full 365 days, according to the settlement agreement.

The settlement agreement was made on February 18, 2019.
