Investigation Continues for Officer-Involved Shooting

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA)–An investigation into an officer-involved shooting in Springdale is ongoing.

The shooter has been identified as 29-year-old Luis Cobos-Cenobio.

He was charged with committing a terrorist act, fleeing and two drug charges.

Now, he’s sitting in the custody of Springdale police.

This comes after the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said they attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

When the vehicle stopped, Cobos-Cenobio fired shots at a Washington County corporal near Tontitown.

The corporal returned fire, and the suspect took off southbound on Thompson.

A Springdale police officer caught up to Cobos-Cenobio, where more shots were exchanged.

The chase ended near Don Tyson Pkwy and Thompson, where Cobos-Cenobio surrendered to the police.

No law enforcement agent was injured, but Cobos-Cenobio was shot on the shoulder.

His hearing will take place Wednesday, Nov. 14.
