Josh Mahony announced this week that he is running for Senate in 2020.
The NWA-based businessman lost a race for Congress in Arkansas’s Third District last year.
Republicans have slammed him for running for Senate after that loss.
On Capitol View, Mahony said the 2018 race was the start of a longer process for the Democratic Party in Arkansas.
“We had a wonderful group of candidates that ran in 2018, but it was the first time that we fielded a lot of Democrats in a while, and part of getting the message out there means some of us had to run early to start building that network out there,” (D) U.S. Senate Candidate Josh Mahony. “And I truly believe that as a state, we’re in a much better place to win as a Democrat than we were in 2018.”
Capitol View airs on Sunday mornings on KNWA.
