Each month, we celebrate teachers and how they inspire future generations with the Golden Apple Award.
This week’s recipient hails from Lowell Elementary, with teacher Cassandra Satterfield.
Satterfield explains why teaching is important to her.
“Sometimes you hear stories of people who haven’t always gone to school and haven’t always had an opportunity to really learn. And that’s why I do what I do because I feel like every single child should have that opportunity to feel loved and to feel like they can learn. That’s why I try really hard, not just in my classroom, but I try to make learning happen all over the building, because that way, every kid gets the opportunity,” Satterfield says.
