KNWA Today: Healthier Game Day Food Options


Tailgating is a big component of game days.

Burgers, hot dogs, chicken and ribs are good options, but not as healthy. Zach Johannsen with Muscle & Veggies stopped by KNWA Today to help out with healthier options for your Saturday tailgate. To get more information on Zach, click HERE.

Here are a few recipes that Zach suggest:

Loaded sweet potato skins
4 sweet potatoes
1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp. Salt, pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheese 
4 strips bacon, crispy and crumbled
Sour cream and chopped chives

Grass fed burgers, with lettuce wrapped with tomato, onion, avocado, and cheese.

Apple, banana, plantain chip fruit platter with a cashew butter dip.

Fresh guacamole recipe:
2 avocados, 1/2 cup chopped cilantro, 1 lime, 1 garlic clove, 1/2 tomato diced, sea salt to taste.
