Bentonville, AR — Ever wonder how your favorite websites, games, and everything digital works? Kids and teens can learn what is beyond the digital screen this summer with Hour of Code, a special six part series at Bentonville Public Library starting June 10th!

BPL invites students to test their hand at computer science. The series of classes will introduce the concept of binary, the idea of coding, programming techniques, and the need for functions. The basic concepts of Computer Science with drag and drop programming will be presented in a game-like, self-directed tutorial video lecture. Learn repeat-loops, conditionals, and basic algorithms. Participants will explore this science with fun hands on “offline” activities as well as digital computer coding.

Hour of Code has six sessions: Wednesdays June 10, June 17, June 24, July 8, July 15, and July 22. The session for students in grades 4-6 begins at 2 PM and the session for students in grades 7-12 begins at 3 PM. Registration is required and limited. Students should commit to the 6 class series.
