Fayetteville Police arrested former Razorback Jonathan Williams for driving while intoxicated.
Thursday morning, police responded to a call about an intoxicated driver at the intersection of MLK and Futrall.
Williams was pulled over and asked for his driver’s license and insurance. According to the police report, the officer noticed Williams had red watery eyes and slurred speech.
When Williams was asked how much alcohol he had consumed, he stated he had one beer around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night.
The officer asked Williams to leave the car to take standard field sobriety tests. Upon getting out of the car, police say Williams had a strong odor of intoxicants on his breath and swaying balance.
During the tests, the officer observed enough clues to believe Williams was intoxicated.
Williams declined to provide a breath sample under advisement of his agent.
He was then placed under arrest and taken to Washington County Detention Center for booking.
Williams was charged with driving while intoxicated and violation of implied consent law.
Williams is a former running back for the Arkansas Razorbacks (2012-2015). He was selected in the 5th round of the 2016 NFL draft by the Buffalo Bills.
Williams was released around 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
