The bike sharing company VeoRide will be at the University of Arkansas to demonstrate how its bikes work on Thursday.

The event will take place near Peace Fountain and Old Main on campus from 12-3 p.m.

The company will also be available to answer any questions pertaining to the app.

The Fayetteville City Council approved a contract with VeoRide in August. It will allow people to rent bikes from an app on their cell-phone.

Officials say the program with have 290 standard 7-speed bicycles and 50 “e-bikes.”

The city is expecting to get the program going sometime in September.
