Workshop Educates Community to Keep Kids Safe

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA) - According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused before the age of 18 and one local group is hoping to bring those numbers down.

The Children's Safety Center's team knows first hand that ending child sexual abuse takes a cooperative, community effort. To end child sexual abuse we must first address the issue head on, be open to have conversations with each other and our children, educate ourselves on the facts, and learn how to prevent abuse from happening.

Stewards of Children is a two hour workshop that addresses child sexual abuse in the context of today's issues and teaches you a simple, 5-step approach that protects the children you love.

The workshop is taking place Monday, June 18 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Waco Title located at 2592 S. 48th Street Springdale.

You also receive a free workbook to take with you and a certificate of completion.

RSVP by contacting CSC Program Director, Casey Atwood at (479)872- 6183 or by clicking here.
