It was a night under the stars to celebrate Northwest Arkansas.
The inaugural Land for Life Gala was held Friday night at the Pratt Place Barn in Fayetteville.
It’s the kickoff to the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust’s Land for Life campaign to preserve 5,000 acres of land in Northwest Arkansas over the next three years.
“Protecting land keeps our water clean,” said Lauren Embree with Northwest Arkansas Land Trust. “Everybody drinks water that comes from Beaver Lake, so all of the watersheds that flow into that area need to be protected in order to protect out waters source.”
Our own Jason Suel hosted the Land for Life Gala.
The Northwest Arkansas Land Trust hopes to raise $2.8 million as part of its campaign.
