More than 10,000 people were killed in 2016 in drunk driving crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
And the labor day holiday has become one of the deadliest times as more drunk drivers are on the roads.
This year, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with NHTSA to get impaired drivers off the road in an attempt to save lives in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.
The campaign started on August 17 and will run through September 3.
Local law enforcement will be showing zero tolerance for drunk driving during this time. And there will also be more officers on the road.
