It’s the 50th anniversary of the theatrical release of The Beatles animated classic Yellow Submarine, and the animator of the film is in Bentonville for his one-man art show.
Ron Campbell is making a tour stop with his Beatles cartoon art show through Sunday at the Fellow Human Gallery in Downtown Bentonville.
In addition to Yellow Submarine, Ron was the director of the highly rated Saturday morning Beatles TV cartoon series in the 60s.
“When you do paintings, you like to show them and when you show them, you like to sell them. So in my retirement, it’s like a whole new business. It’s like a whole new way of life for me. Once a month, I go to some part of America and show my paintings,” Campbell said.
Besides The Beatles, Ron was involved in 50 years of TV cartoons including Scooby Doo, Rugrats, Flintstones, Smurfs, Jetsons, Yogi Bear, Winnie the Pooh and more.
