Local Business Helping Students Eat in Northwest Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — A local business is giving residents the chance to help students here in northwest Arkansas.

Eastside Grill in Fayetteville is partnering with the Fayetteville Public School district to Fill the Pantry.

Some students only get food during school hours, so things can het get tough during times school is not in session. Items like peanut butter and cereal are being collected at the restaurant to help make the upcoming winter break easier for these students.

Scott Bowman, owner of Eastside Grill said this drive is important to the community, especially this time of year.

“We’re in the food business,” Bowman said. “We sell food for a living. So this is something that’s near and dear to our hearts. Feeding kids and feeding these families in need.”

Along with nonperishable food items, the restaurant is also accepting the 18-gallon tubs and lids the food will be distributed in. Donations can be dropped off until December 9, click here for a list of accepted donations.
