Local Company Will No Longer Sell Yeti

TONTITOWN, Ark. (KNWA) -- Popular cooler maker Yeti has eliminated discount programs for the National Rifle Association, sparking controversy from stores that carry the product.

Ozark Sportmans Supply in Tontitown said on its Facebook page that it will not sell Yeti products anymore because of this decision.

Yeti also released a statement Monday defending the brand.

"Yeti explained that we were offering them an alternative customization program broadly available to consumers and organizations, including the NRA Foundation," the statement read. "These facts directly contradict the inaccurate statement the NRA-ILA distributed on April 20th."

Dustin Cunningham, general manager of the store, said the store may donate the Yeti products.

Cunningham said they've received more than 50  messages on Facebook from people asking how they can support the store.

All future Yeti orders have been canceled, and the store is unsure of how long their boycott will last.
