NORTHWEST ARKANSAS, Ark. (KFTA) – With the help of Northwest Arkansas’ love for Girl Scout cookies, Troop 5340 sold more than 5,000 boxes that allowed the girls to explore our beautiful nation, learn public speaking, and gain confidence in themselves.
The troop used the money to completely pay for a week long camping trip at Custer State Park in South Dakota.
During the trip, the troop gave a presentation about flag etiquette to crowds at Mount Rushmore which earned them applause as well as a retired flag that once flew there.
On this trip, the girls also got to see wild buffalo, mountain goats, visit Crazy Horse Memorial, the Devils Tower in WY, and do a ropes course.
